Who is this test for?

This test may be suitable for people who have symptoms of an underactive thyroid, such as tiredness, weight gain, feeling cold, dry skin or hair, hair loss, constipation, low mood, muscle weakness or cramps, and swelling in the face or neck.

It may also be helpful for people at higher risk, including those with a family history of thyroid disease, women over 60, people who are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, individuals with autoimmune conditions, those who have had thyroid problems or surgery before, or people taking certain medications that affect thyroid function.

People with related health concerns, such as high cholesterol, mental health symptoms, or heart problems, may also benefit from this test.
